MILANO XL

Two sunglasses models from our historical collection (one in lather and one with stones) will be show from semptember 12 to 24 2018 at #MILANOXL 2018: a project that aims to give as many people as possible an idea, an image, a map, of the Italian fashion system.

Bearing in mind that fashion system is already a reductive definition, a blanket term used to describe a complex production and distribution network, from textile production to final product, that which we see in stores or on the runway.

A network unparalleled in terms of completeness and quality that includes textiles, apparel, shoes, leather goods, jewellery, leather craftsmanship, eyewear and cosmetics.

Cube 5I6. Eyewear

The installation is conceived as an encounter between theater and history of eyewear, which has become a true fashion accessory and distinctive style detail over the years, as well as an economic force for the district of Belluno and for the entire Italian fashion system. The “demonstration wall” is a sort of stage used to present a “show” created and directed by young theater director Fabio Cherstich. Historic pieces from the collection at The Optical and Eyewear Museum of Pieve di Cadore, curated by Laura Zandonella, are the protagonists of a story that – similarly to the jewellery and textile cubes – uses surrealistic elements to display the authenticity, solidity and tradition of the eyewear sector.

The “exhibition wall” presents a selection of contemporary production models that follow the criteria of sustainability, selected by Anfao, the sector’s main association and host of the annual Mido Eyewear Show.
